Thanks for the list of pros and cons of the different VoIP companies. It would be nice if there was a comprehensive "buyer's guide" of some sort online somewhere comparing the various VoIP companies.

http://nationwidevpn.com

A comment by Boaz from fring regarding the (low) costs of data services in the mobile world.

Two weeks ago I have been in Italy for a week. I entered a small mobile shop and (with no Italian on my side and little English on the other side - when I say little I mean words like Internet, data, Euro, credit card, ...) and got an offer for two packages:
1. for 25 Euro, 400MB of data to use at all times including 5 Euro for regular GSM services (for use within 30 days)
2. for 30 Euro, the same as above with 1.2 GB of data for use during the evening and weekend

I left the store with the first package, fringing and emailing through out the week to every corner of the world with no limitation.

By the way, I also used the 5 Euro credit I got with the package. I placed two GSM calls in Italy and send 4 international SMS messages (I have to admit, not everyone is on fring yet) - upon leaving, I had a credit of 0.48 Euro left out of it.
