So, they confirm that “invalid clicks were generated” by my website. Oh yes, I became suddenly rich thanks to the 50$/month I got from Google. They don’t explain what the problem was and, if my fault, how to correct it.
After reading through the terms and conditions, I thought that a possible cause could be the menu items on the blue bar up here. They are made to quick search through my blog specific subjects like Nokia, Apple and so on. I have just verified that those searches were made through the code I got from the Google search box on the right. Since there was my publisher ID inside the links, I think I was earning money thanks to those links so maybe they consider them invalid clicks. Money? Cents I think, since I’ve verified that those links received just a few clicks in the last month.
Ok, if I’m right (but I don’t know since they don’t explain the problem to me) I can change the behavior of the bar (I did it already). I don’t want to earn money from those links, but just offer to my visitors a quick way to find specific posts on specific subjects.
All this said, I think what happened is really a shame. There are REAL people frauding companies which invest in Google AdWords and it seems that the only available solution is blocking forever accounts owned by respectable publishers.
This event just showed me how Google AdSense engine is weak. A lot of money is spent by advertisers to get nothing in return.
Google, I’m really disappointed about that.
UPDATE: since I’ve moved to a new domain and registered a new adsense account with the name of my wife, AdSense is back to this blog.
