How to make a new service sticky?

by Luca Filigheddu on August 6, 2007

Mark Evans asks this interesting question and I’m pretty sure that anyone out there is really looking forward to getting it answered.

Malcolm Gladwell in his “The Tipping Point” states that “stickiness” is a must-have in order to get to the tipping point that can lead a service/product to success.

What are the services that are sticky for me? I mean those services on the web that I visit often and use continuously. I can say that they are not that much.

Gmail, Google Analytics, Feedburner are the only services that I visit everyday. Of course, I’m taking out the over 450 RSS subscriptions.

On the other hand, I am subscribed to hundred of services. That really makes me think.

Valid points you raise. Is it always like that though? I do wonder.
