This is a special Christmas gift for users that installed and used our popular Mozilla VoIP Extension, but also for all of you who would like to start using it right now.
A new version of the VoIP Extension is now available for download and it’s not limited to the Abbeyphone VoIP service only. You can insert your favorite VoIP service or even your company’s Asterisk PBX. The following VoIP providers are already included: Free World Dialup, Gizmo Project, VoIPStunt, VoIPCheap and Abbeyphone of course. More to come very soon.
However, you can configure your profile for any service you like, you just need to insert the information of your service’s SIP server.
The extension is available for any Firefox or Flock browser under Windows, Linux and MacOSX.
Now you can finally experience one-click away phone calls directly from your browser, using your favorite VoIP service or even your company’s SIP server.
For those who already installed this extension before, you won’t receive an update notice. You have to go to the website and download the extension from there.
Everything is FREE, but this version includes an experimental overlaying box that appears as soon as you open your browser and that is capable of showing ads. We still don’t know if we’ll keep it in the following versions or if it’s going to become a model for us to monetize this extension.

Originally when Abbeynet’s Mozilla VoIP Extensions came out, I panned it. And while I will admit I’m still not a huge fan, I do like the direction is heading. Instead of being an Abbeynet-only tool,they’ve opened it up to other SIP providers. A number of pre-defined SIP services are included in the latest plugin. However, there is now nothing preventing you from putting in your own SIP configuration. Good stuff! See article. [IMG]
