Here in the Bay Area I became GPS addicted. I’m going back and forth effectively with my rented car, thanks to my GPS.

The problem is that in Italy I didn’t find any car GPS provided with US maps. Hence, as soon as I landed to SF, I bought one at a local store in the airport. That was the only one they had, it was 9pm so I decided to buy it anyway. No TomTom, no Garmin, but Mio Digiwalker (model C230 us). I had heard about it once, but honestly didn’t remember if reviews it got were good or bad. Now I discovered they are the third manufacturer worldwide and made in Europe.

After almost three weeks, I have to say it’s a great GPS. I bought the basic one, but it’s working really great. Thousand of point of interests are there already and I never got a bad direction neither I got lost. I paid it $249, not a bad deal for the quality I’m getting. High resolution screen and it’s very fast and accurate.

That being said, I highly recommend it. It’s surely not a “well-known branded device”, but it works definitely well.

One of my friends here has a MIO and has had a few problems with it. He is replacing it soon with a Garmin.
