Call for FREE Worldwide: is the solution behind the corner?

[excerpt]It’s clear for everyone that people are always looking for a way to call for free all over the world or to get the cheapest rates ever, almost free.

Many players are fighting in this ground, with clearly a weak and not long term business model as well as no real monetization strategy. Companies like Jaxtr as well as Jaduka (as Phoneboy reminds us) are in this basket.

On the contrary, companies like Truphone finally stopped offering free calls to over 40 countries for all the new subscribers (they will get the new low-cost Tru Zone offer) while older ones can still get the free calls plan until June 1st.[/excerpt]

All that said, I just realized there is another way for people to get FREE calls to almost everywhere in the world. Down here is the starting point, a support email received by our customer care at Abbeynet in regards of Sitofono:

Please activate you services for the United Arab Emirates. We expatriates are having a hard time contacting our loved ones at home.

Hey, do you want to know how this email was tagged? “Iotum free conference calls -Sitofono“. Did you understand what I mean? People are starting using our Sitofono and maybe Truphone to dial in a conference call… that is actually a normal phone call.

In a nutshell, people are starting to use Iotum Free Conference call to call for free. They just organize a conf call and it’s done, FREE calls everywhere in the world thanks to Sitofono, Truphone and Iotum.

Cool isn’t it? Actually I haven’t ever looked at this app from this interesting standpoint. I wonder why Vinay didn’t realize it yet! :-)

P.S. all you read above is a secret, please don’t tell anyone

That’s a very good write up. It’s amazing how technology can change so quickly,
and how useful it can be. VOIP is becoming more standard now as businesses are
taking advantage of cheaper rates.
I actually wrote about making free VoIP calls over the internet.

Oh, I will go on writing posts against FREE services without valid and sustainable business models, I can reassure you!. The point is that we are actually offering that service for conference calls... and people are using it that way... (that is not our purpose, of course...).

I should remind you of your anti-free posts Luca :-)see you Sunday we will discuss
