Most bloggers as well as popular news sites rely on Google when it comes to pay the bills, placing Google AdSense Ad units all over the website.
I don’t want to discuss how to place them in order to get higher revenues and increase the probability to get clicked by visitors. Today I just want to point out a simple tip that can boost your AdSense revenues immediately.
The main point is: people mostly arrive to your content after searching for something on Google. If the ads on your blog are relevant enough to what your visitors searched for, then your ads will pay you more.
All that said, if your ads are displayed taking into account other parts of your blog which are not relevant to what your visitors are looking for, then the eCPM will be lower and you’ll get paid less for each click.
To avoid this, the trick is easy: tell Google what part of content they have to consider while displaying ads. The best to do in this case is to choose the content which goes from the post title to the end of the post. This lets Google avoiding content contained in the sidebars or in other areas not related to the post visitors are reading.
To accomplish this, you just need to insert the relevant content between the following tags:
<!– google_ad_section_start –>
<!– google_ad_section_end –>
Easy right? I can guarantee you that you’ll see a big increase of your eCPM that means more money for each click. I can assure you that this can make the difference. Please try it and post your comments here. Keep in mind that this change can take time to have effects on your website, even one week or more.
