A few days ago I wrote a post where I was complaining about a few problems I experienced by using a Motorola Milestone (Droid) as my primary business and personal phone.

Today, I officially announce I’m back to RIM, a new BlackBerry Bold 9700 is now my primary phone. It’s way better than my previous Blackberry Bold 9000, faster, longer battery life, lighter, but, in particular, for me, it’ MUCH better than the Milestone. Why?

Since I switched back to RIM a few days ago I immediately noticed that my productivity has improved a lot. More effectiveness in dealing with emails, faster and better interaction with social media services like Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter, better usability. I also now share a lot more business and personal content, with the Bold 9700 it’s just easier and faster. The interesting point is that I’m not alone, I’ve heard at least three other people who just switched from a Nexus One to a Blackberry for business, keeping the Android phone for personal use only (YouTube videos work great on it!).

What did I learn from this? There is not better or worse phone, it all depends on how you are going to use it. And, at the end of the day, RIM is still the leader for the business market and unless Apple or Google will focus on this segment a bit more, more people will stick (or go back) with their faithful and powerful Blackberry. What do you think? What’s your experience?

I feel the pain when I see 10 unread emails in my inbox! Ok, maybe it is just a real obsession, but I’m constantly in the “inbox 0″ status, that is no emails to be processed (this is maybe the real reason why I switched back to a BlackBerry from an Android phone).
